Trouble

Trouble by Gary D. Schmidt
Fourteen-year-old Henry, wishing to honor his brother Franklin's dying wish, sets out to hike Maine's Mount Katahdin with his best friend and dog, but fate adds another companion--the Cambodian refugee accused of fatally injuring Franklin--and reveals troubles that predate the accident.

  1. I felt the book lagged a bit in the beginning but the story grew more complex as it progressed. Many issues are dealt with, prejudice being the strongest. This is shown on both sides of the story, which I found very 'real life'. There are also issues of trust, friendship, anger.. It was a great book to read and hard to put down.
